You know, it's a hard question indeed.
Everthing can cut in both ways, if you help the poor people, you may lose a decent job.if you do not help him, you can keep the good job but sth. pale in the cockles of the heart.
So If i were him I will make another decision. At first,Call 110 or ask for help in the street .It's impossible only 2 people on my way to go to office.so i don't think it'll take me very long time. At least it won't make me late for work.Then,when the 3rd people or the policeman reach, the people who need help may solve his hard problem as soon as possible.
Well, for the poor people and for me, i consider it's the best solution i can choose.

有的时候你去interview的时候，工作单位会安排一个老太太在门口晕倒，看你怎么解决。不过现在这种情况好像出现的不多了，因为大家都“聪明”了

well. I'll make a call first to the company and tell my boss what's happening now. And then try to help the stranger with what I can.
If my boss cannot undertand,i will leave my phone number to that stranger and tell him if someone else cannot help him, he may turn to me later.

I can choose the person which helps to need to help, but also must let the company know I am late the reason, I thought I can do this:
I can make the phone call to ask for leave to the unit, then helps that person again Because the normal unit cannot because you have helped the person which anxiously needs to help, also in the situation which asked for leave, dismisses a staff.

I can not make the dicision since not enough information has been given by the questioner.
There are many elements to be considered in this case.
First about my job. Is it a job that I must stick to? or is my boss a nice person who will understand me if I tell him/her about I was helping someone else that resulted in my lateness?
And about helping. Can anyone else assist the person except me? As you said, it's urgent, but how important is it to that person and myself?
